Journey through Grief is a bereavement support group sponsored by St. Pius X. Team members are experienced, certified, bereavement facilitators who emotionally and spiritually support those who are grieving the death of a loved one. The eight-week sessions are held several times each year. Registration forms are available at the rectory. For more information please call St.Pius at 693-5107.
When there is a funeral in the parish, a member of this ministry contacts the family to help them plan the details of the Liturgy. The goal of this ministry is to reach out to our fellow parishioners in love and caring at this most sensitive time.
This support group meets every Wednesday, September-June at 7 p.m. in the Deacon Dick Brennan Room in the rectory. Men and women who have experienced the pain of separation and divorce facilitate the program. It offers hope and healing and helps to bring closure to feelings of anger and despair.

The mission of the Social Ministry to the Homebound is to provide companionship to the homebound parishioners of St. Mary’s and give them a sense of community. Parish volunteers visit our homebound whose activities and socialization is limited. During visits, the volunteers interact with the client according to their capabilities and needs, while adhering to the Diocese guidelines. Some of the recommended activities are, but not limited to, playing cards and board games, watching TV programs, playing a musical instrument, and engaging in conversation that sparks the client’s interest.
