Continuing Catholic Education (CCE)

The goal of the Continuing Catholic Education program is to prepare "an engaged, articulate and well-formed Catholic laity" by equipping them to challenge today's secular culture, which seeks to block "the Church's participation in public debate about the issues which are determining the future of American society." The best ideas of Catholic scholars and experts on contemporary topics are presented to the parish via DVD’s, e.g., the Catholicism series. This program is for Catholics who are dismayed with the pervasive effects of contemporary secular culture, and who would like to present the Catholic point of view in an articulate and inspiring manner. Light Of The World Evangelization Ministries ("LOTWEM").

Light of the World is a complete Catholic parish evangelization process. First, it provides every attendee of the Kerygmatic Retreat the opportunity for a personal encounter with Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit. Second, parishioners are supported in their faith journey through small faith communities and continuing spiritual education and formation. Third, LOTWEM promotes parish outreach - to welcome back those who have strayed and to invite those who are seeking the way.

Pre-Cana is the process through which engaged couples prepare for their upcoming marriage. This is a requirement of the Diocese of Trenton. St. Mary’s Pre-Cana team offers a weekend experience for engaged couples once in the Spring and again in the Fall. Married couples enhance their own marriage relationship while helping these couples prepare for the Sacrament of Matrimony.

Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA)

RCIA is the process through which adults prepare for full initiation into the Catholic Church. They receive the sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation at the Easter Vigil Mass. Included in this class are Catholics who wish to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation, which is administered by our Bishop on Pentecost Sunday. This class is also open to those who would like to further study their faith. Classes meet every other Tuesday from 7:30 – 9:00 pm and some Sundays from September through May.

Small Faith Communities

Small Faith Communities have been established based on geography to allow people the opportunity to know other parishioners in their community. These Small Faith Communities provide faith sharing and a sense of neighborhood to our very large parish. These communities help in evangelization and bringing the people back through the practice of their faith.

Spanish Outreach

This ministry started in October of 2011.  We have a Mass in Spanish on the first and third Sundays of the month at 2:00 p.m. St. Mary of the Pines. Upon special request, other Masses and Ceremonies are available. We are doing this to help better integrate our Spanish parishioners into our parish family. A Mass for Our Lady of Guadalupe is held every year on December 12th. If you would like to help this ministry grow, please contact Cheri.
